News Round-Up October 2021

Praise from global tech giant Microsoft, glowing reviews from the media, and a surge in demand from Australia were just some of the news highlights of a great month for GOPASS Global.

Microsoft

Microsoft described GOPASS Global as a great example of “innovation, agility and intelligent use of data and AI” in a joint press release that was picked up by a range of media including the Technology Record.

The technology giant also shared the uplifting story of how a group of data analysts, led by GOPASS CEO Mark Radford and chief data officer Tony Ohlsson, used their downtime during the pandemic to develop the platform to get travel and the economy moving again.

The Australian newspaper

The Aviation Reporter of The Australian newspaper, Robyn Ironside, wrote a brilliant piece about GOPASS, describing our platform as a “world-first tool for travellers to quickly assess the risk of their journey”. Robyn explained how GOPASS drew on 35 global data sources, in near real time, to calculate the level of risk and flagged the pending release of a similar risk solution geared for consumers. It was a very timely article as Australians prepared for a re-opening of international borders from November 1. The ABC reported that travel agents faced a huge spike in demand from travel-starved consumers armed with more than $8 billion worth of travel credits from pandemic-induced cancellations.

So, it’s no wonder that travel agencies, especially in markets like Australia which had some of the longest lockdowns anywhere, are flocking to GOPASS. We are the world’s only pre-travel risk management platform that analyses and scores risk, to help their customers plan COVID safe itineraries and return to the skies confidently and safely.
